The biggest challenge with Lipedema is proper diagnosis. Many women first encounter the word lipedema online, or they are diagnosed by a vein or manual lymphatic drainage specialist. We have 2 obstacles to overcome: 1) the word Lipedema which is confusing to many, and 2) obtaining a proper diagnosis. I’ve worked very hard to define Lipedema on this site, but I want to simplify the process of diagnosis.
I have provided an online questionnaire on this site. When a patient submits this questionnaire, along with some photographs, I will personally review these thoroughly and reply promptly. If a diagnosis of Lipedema is made, the stage of Lipedema and type, as well as potential treatment options will be provided as well. This is very important. Complete the questionnaire, take and submit a few photographs of your arms and legs to our secure HIPAA compliant server, and your information will be reviewed and a response provided with complete confidentiality.
